Shirts, Links, Explanations - and the
Batting of Eyelashes.

August 11, 2005

I have two con announcements, five points of pimping - and
an explanation as to what's been going on (and what hasn't) around here.

I've got two impending cons. I'll be at Anime Fest in Dallas on September
2nd through 5th. Yeah, it's short notice, but it'll be fun. Jin Wicked will be helping me run
my table in the vendor area. The guest list they
have is fucking amazing. I'm even going to run an SP panel!

Next con I'll be at (unless another sneaks in later) is Vericon at Harvard University on
January 27th through the 29th. Yeah, I'll actually be at a con in the
Boston area! You've no idea how much this pleases me. Also in
attendance will be Mookie from Dominic Deegan and Tim Buckley
of Ctrl-Alt-Delete.
Show up! C'mon, it's in late January. If you're in New Enfland, you
know you're not gonna have any other plans.

Okay. Pimping the first: let me pimp myself. On my
Rhymes-With-Witch site, I'm selling
three new shirts, and one design is on a baby doll and a tank top!
I'm also doing a pre-order sale. Order two shirts at $6 off or three
shirts at $12 off! Give the designs a look! Every order will receive a
mystery gift art print! Do it! Daddy's gotta eat!

Second, in Sad Songs pt
1, I referenced a song called "A Boy and His Frog." This is a real
song dedicated to the memory of Jim Henson by master filk singer, Tom Smith. If you want to
find out what a filk singer is, or you like a lot of funny songs
that fit perfectly into geek and gamer (no, not all of his songs will
reduce you to tears - but "A Boy and His Frog" will OWN YOU), give him a
listen. He also wrote the official theme to Talk Like a Pirate Day.

Third - and I don't normally mention S*P merchandise before it comes
out, but this is something a LOT of you have asked about for a year
now... it's going to happen... a Rippy the Razor shirt.

God forgive me.

Fourth - Atomic Sock Monkey Games has a new rpg out called Truth &
Justice. It's a good supers rpg - and I have three illustrations in
it!

Fifth, I've been meaning to link to C.J. Henderson for a while now. If
you like noir, horror and the Mythos, you'll like C.J.'s work. He and
his Daughter, Erica Henderson (a disgustingly amazing artist and very
nice person... such an infuriating combination!) made a wonderful book
called, "Baby's
First Mythos" It's one of the best bedtime books around.

Okay, enough whoring myself out. An explanation now.

So MM and NGD restart Monday. I'm not going to get into why
they've been on hold. I don't want to post about my life outside this
comic and, frankly, the only person interested in it is probably me.
Sometimes life just gets in the way and there was a lot of reevaluation
of what I'm doing, why I'm doing and if it's what I wanted to be doing.

Hopefully, things will slide back into some sense of normalcy (yes, I
have a sense of normal - it's just different from yours). I've honestly
missed doing the other two comics, especially Midnight Macabre, but I
really needed the time to look at myself, my relations and my work. I
want to thank everyone who emailed me the kind words of support, and the
friends who've been there for me in the last two months. It means more
to me than you'll ever realize.

In fact, it means almost as much to me as it would if you bought a shirt.
