New week, new hope.
August 15, 2006
First, a reminder. Labor Day weekend I will be at Anime Fest in Dallas. It would be
great if anyone in the area could drop by and say hi. Fuckers. There
probably won't be a reader gathering this trip, though. I'm not there
long enough for it and my time will be divided between family, con,
seeing glimpses of friends, and showing Rinny around the urban
metropolis that is... Bedford, Texas.
It's no Matthews, but I do what I can.
Secondly, a few of you have picked up my elusive hints (cough) that I've
been in a wee bit of a mood. Yeah, last week was a shithole. It's
over. In fact, I can pin-point the exact time last night things began
to pick up because of a phone call. I do want to apologize, publically,
to a woman who emailed me at the wrong time and caught the brunt of my temper. I apologized in
email, but I'm doing it here, too. I'm sorry about that.
So, yeah. Lotsa stuff going on - the most fun of which was a tire
blowout. One of the things has been financial. Summer is a slow time for ad sales and
donations (but definitely not a slow time for visitors), and this summer
slower than normal. I'm not surprised considering everyone's feeling a hell of a pinch this year. However, if
ya can, drop a few bucks in the PayPal bucket (the link's over at the
side of the front page, under the links) and I'll greatly appreciate it.
No, the comic isn't going to go away if you don't do this - but a few stresses will
(and, believe it or not, I don't work well stressed. Angry, yes - but
stressed? No). I'll thank you severely, but not as much as a few of
the bills I've gotta pay will. And I'll do my best to repay the
kindness.
Josh, the lovable, huggable ads manager (and lately, Randy manager) has
a suggestion for the site I'm going to try - but I'm not allowed to talk
about it until it's completely done and running. I'd rather not jinx
myself. -R
